Pioneer Motel

Where do I begin? We had such a good experience here. My friend and I were on the way to Glacier from Yellowstone when a snow storm popped up and we couldn't safely make the drive from West Yellowstone to Kalispell. The night before we had camped in 27° weather and my sleeping bag wasn't rated for those temperatures. So we realized we needed to get a place for the night to evade the snow. We went to the visitors center to see if anyone there would have any recommendations on a nice place where to broke college students could stay. She immediately called the Pioneer Motel and got us a room for a pretty good price. We honestly thought it was too good to be true. When we got there we were met by a very kind lady named Sheryl. She was very welcoming and made it known that if there was anything we needed to just ask her. She also gave us some great recommendations for food: Buffalo Bar for lunch or dinner and the Running Bear Cafe across the street for breakfast. We took her up on these recommendations and wow they were good. We were also across from the laundromat which was much needed because we hadn't washed clothes in a week. Overall, great experience. Great service. Great location. Will definitely recommend to fellow pioneers.

We decided last minute to stay overnight and so glad this motel was recommended. Cheryl was an absolute gem! Our cozy room comfortably fit the 5 of us. Clean, basic and simple. Price was great! Will be back again.

Found this place while hiking the CDT and needed an escape from the rain. Best deal we could find in town, clean room, very very hot shower, good wifi, microwave, fridge and coffee maker in room. Right across the street from laundry and a great pancake house one block down. On top of all that the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to all of our requests even the strange hiker ones. A hikers paradise for sure.

Very nice and clean place. It's a cozy spot tucked away. If your traveling with family, friends or on a romantic rendezvous, this is definitely the place to go. The employees at the front desk were also very knowledgeable about the town, it's history and yellowstone national park. I'd surely recommend this place to all my friends.

The location was great! The folks running it were very nice! The room we had (2) lacked. Itty bitty shower, floors were uneven, AC barely worked, gap in between door and frame (could see through the gap). I think we might look at other options next time.

What a wonderful stay we had at the Pioneer Motel. Cheryl was very nice and quick to respond to emails or phone calls. We were missing a few things that we needed in our kitchen and she got them for us. Our rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. We'd stay here again!

Writing this from my cozy bed In suite 3 on a rainy and cold August night. The Motel has that quaint and efficient 1960s style. The rooms are clean. Sheryl, (sorry if I have your name spelled wrong) helped us out finding dinner and checked us in quick and easy. Reasonable rates and only a short walk of a few blocks back downtown.

This place is a hidden gem in its busy town! Wonderful management, ask for Cheryl. The individual units are super clean and inviting. Bed/pillows very comfortable and clean. Bathroom was spotless and had all the amenities needed. Theme of motel...cabin rustic style. Fits the Yellow Stone Mountain terrain. Highly recommend, especially for the price!! Beats out any other motel/Hotel in the area.

Rich and Sheryl (I believe that was her name) were literal life savers. We contacted them after hiking 7 miles down from getting stuck off a forest road and still having 10 miles to go to get to West Yellowstone (by foot). Sheryl booked us a room and and when I told her our issue, she offered to see if Rich could come pick us up. Not only did Rich pick us up, he took us to McDonalds and pulled us out the next morning!! Aside from the amazing customer service the motel is very nice! The rooms are well maintained, the beds are cozy and comfortable, and the showers are hot. Thank you guys again for everything you did for us!!

If you’re looking for a gem in West Yellowstone with great staff, clean rooms, and a great location then book here. Cheryl was amazing to work with, as we had a terrible experience with an Airbnb the 2 nights prior. She helped us find the perfect room!
